« Please note these UPCOMING PUBLIC EVENTS »
Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 boating classes are scheduled! See the event calendar.

WHAT DO WE DO?
We do a lot of volunteer work to teach and promote safe boating practices on Central Massachusetts lakes and rivers. These activities are the cornerstones of the Auxiliary. This is what we do:

EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC

We offer 1-day classes in the spring depending on demand. Course cost covers materials. Completion of the About Boating Safely (ABS) is a minimal requirement in New England states (except MA) to operate any recreational vessel. Our 2009 class schedule is posted on our event calendar. learn more

VESSEL SAFETY CHECKS FOR THE PUBLIC - FREE! Auxiliary Vessel Check decal

Make sure YOUR vessel - canoe, kayak, paddleboat, personal watercraft, any recreational boat - has all the safety equipment required by federal and state laws. On a trailer or in the water. During the late spring and summer months, you might see us at local launch ramps conducting the inspections. learn more

MARINE VISITATIONS

We stay in close contact with area marinas and boat dealers to "spread the word" about boating safety, the Auxiliary's missions, and sponsor classes. Ask about us at your favorite boat place. learn more

OTHER ACTIVITIES
We are also involved in many other "behind-the-scene" Auxiliary activities, including Navigation Systems, and Marine Safety and Environmental Protection.

WE NEED YOU!
We need more members in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary to fulfill our missions. Learn more about the Auxiliary and join the Auxiliary. Feel free to contact the 10-01 Flotilla Commander, David McClure, for more assistance.
